Eden Venues
Eden Venues is a high-end wedding venue developed from an existing local restaurant. We were contacted by Will during the early stages of the project, as the team was constructing a custom timber-framed ceremony space and required a bespoke, weather-proof tensile membrane roof to complement the structure.
Client Objectives
The client required a high-performance roofing solution that would:
- Integrate seamlessly with a custom timber truss structure
- Provide reliable weather protection, including sun shading and full watertight performance
- Be installed retrospectively while maintaining a clean, minimal aesthetic
Design Solution
A custom, single-piece tensile membrane roof was designed and fabricated using Ferrari 902 White Translucent fabric, supplied by Serge Ferrari. This material was selected for its exceptional strength, durability, and light-transmitting qualities, allowing natural daylight while maintaining protection from the elements. The membrane is backed by a 20-year pro-rata warranty.
The roof was installed using our Shotgun Hardware system, fixed directly to the timber rafters. The one-piece membrane spans across five rafters set at 3.6 m centres, resulting in a sleek, continuous, and watertight finish with minimal visual clutter.
Technical Innovation
- A single-piece membrane solution reduced seams and potential leak points
- Structural mounting at five rafter locations ensured even load distribution
- Lifting equipment was used to accurately position the membrane during installation, allowing for precise tensioning and alignment
Project Summary
The completed tensile roof has transformed the timber structure into a permanent, all-weather ceremony space. The area now serves as both a dedicated wedding ceremony location and an adaptable space for additional seating during events. The project has been highly successful, enhancing both the functionality and visual appeal of Eden Venues while delivering a durable, long-term roofing solution.
