Project Description
Our client approached us with a vision for an extravagant event utilising smooth ceiling polyester fabric liners throughout their tent structures for a centenary dinner. The project involved three adjacent structures, each 30m wide, consisting of two units at 100m long and one at 70m long, creating a vast 8100 m² dinner space for "NZ's Biggest Party," celebrating Barfoot & Thompson's Centenary Dinner with 3800 seated guests. The client requested a flat, seamless ceiling suitable for projecting images and silk walling around the entire interior. Additionally, we designed and manufactured PVC guttering and tent roof panels to maintain the seamless finish of the smooth ceiling throughout the space.

This project marked a significant milestone, representing the largest single lining job we have ever produced. It required our lining department to engage in three months of dedicated sewing, utilising over 12,600 m² of fire-retardant polyester fabric. Our engineering team also created custom hardware to erect and support the MOD ceiling liners, showcasing meticulous planning and execution to meet a very tight deadline.
The scale and complexity of this undertaking necessitated a collaborative effort across multiple departments, leading to ongoing opportunities with our satisfied client, who valued our responsiveness and the high-quality final product.
Project Summary
Our client aimed to use Silk Liners throughout their tent structures, resulting in a massive 8100 m² event space for the Barfoot & Thompson Centenary Dinner, accommodating 3800 guests. The project featured a flat, seamless ceiling for image projection, complemented by silk walling. This substantial endeavour involved three months of sewing and 12,600 m² of Silkline 300d White FR fabric, along with custom-engineered MOD lining support hardware for installation.
