Project Brief:
To modernise and provide shelter over the outdoor dining areas of the ‘Beach, Bar & Grill’ restaurant of the Shangri-La’s Fijian Resort. The sail canopies had to be easily removable for adverse weather conditions. The client’s requirements were for modern, simple & functional designs.

Project Comments:
The canopies were designed to  provide a solution for utilizing the space to its full potential without being affected by the weather and creating a pleasant dining area. 

Native trees located in the dining area also had to remain. A central steel portal frame and light weight PVC shade canopy attached to a timber post was the preferred solution, this provided a near all weather dining experience while retaining all the native flora.
